A journey towards healing
I’ll guide you on your journey into healing. Together, we create space for tension to soften, so your body can unwind and find its own balance.
Our bodies remember what our minds have long forgotten — moments of tension, grief, or exhaustion that quietly settle in the body until they begin to speak again.
The pain can manifest itself in the neck, hips, RSI joint or shoulders. It may cause migraines, headaches or sleeping problems, or even breathing problems (tightness in the chest), indigestion, and/or menstrual complaints.
Shiatsu helps to ease these echoes of pain and brings body and mind back to stillness and balance. Through gentle touch and mindful pressure, the body is invited to soften, to breathe, and to return to its natural flow.
Before we begin, you’re welcomed with a warm cup of tea, so your body can arrive gently after your day. After the session, you’re invited to take a moment with another cup of tea, allowing your body to settle before you go back outside.
The first treatment, including a short intake, costs €85 and lasts 90 minutes.
Follow-up appointments cost €75 and last 60 minutes.
If you have questions, you can find more information in the → FAQ.
Shiatsu Treatment
There are days when your mind feels full and your body tired. Do-In and Shiatsu bring movement and stillness together, helping you reconnect with yourself.
Do-In is a Japanese form of yoga that invites gentle stretching, breathing and self-massage. It helps your attention turn inward and supports your energy to move freely again.
Combined with Shiatsu, it creates a balance between activity and receptivity — your body relaxes more deeply, and you feel more spaciousness, both physically and mentally.
Each session begins with a warm cup of tea, giving you a quiet moment to arrive. After the treatment, you’re welcome to take another cup of tea, so your body can gently integrate the work before stepping back into your day.
(15 minutes Do-In + 45 minutes Shiatsu — €75)
Do In and Shiatsu Treatment
What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of manual therapy that supports the body’s natural ability to restore itself. It is more than a massage technique — it is a way of listening through the hands.
At Iokai Shiatsu, the human being is seen as a whole — body, mind and emotions are deeply connected.
Everything we experience leaves traces in the body — and those traces can be invited to move again. During a session, I don’t only focus on where the discomfort lies.
Through the meridian system, I sense where balance may have been disturbed and invite the body to restore itself from within.
How does a treatment look like?
A Shiatsu session takes place on a soft futon mat on the floor. You remain fully clothed — it’s best to wear loose, natural clothing that helps you relax comfortably.
Every session begins with a warm cup of tea, giving you a moment to arrive and settle before we start. The first session lasts 90 minutes (including a short intake and one hour of treatment). Follow-up sessions last 60 minutes.
After each session, you’re invited to take another cup of tea, so your body has time to breathe, integrate, and gently come back to the day.
Every session is tailored to you — who you are, what you feel, and what your body needs in that moment.
Originally from Austria, Christina (she/her) has found her home in the Netherlands. For her, Shiatsu is a way to listen — through touch, presence and stillness. In each session she creates a space of trust and calm, where the body can breathe and gently return to balance.
In each session she creates a space where trust, safety and calm can be felt, so the body can unwind and find its own rhythm again.
She trained at Iokai Shiatsu Amsterdam, where the human being is seen as a whole — body, mind and soul.
Everyone is welcome — every body, every experience, every story has a place here. If you’d like to experience what Shiatsu can offer, you’re warmly invited to get in touch or book a session.
Christina continues to refine her practice through ongoing study — from traditional Japanese techniques like okyu moxa, bo-points and mobilisations, to workshops on trauma, pregnancy and fertility.
