Shiatsu
where your body can settle
For when stress, tension or overwhelm has become too much to carry alone.
A calm Shiatsu treatment that supports you in softening tension, reconnecting with your body and finding more safety within yourself.
For stress, burnout symptoms, overwhelm and psychosomatic complaints.
Who is it for
Sometimes your body tells you something before you have words for it. Tension keeps returning, your body finds it hard to truly settle, or you feel overwhelmed more quickly than you would like.
Maybe you feel it in your breath, belly, shoulders or back. You may feel tired, restless, or notice that your body stays alert, even when you actually want to rest. This can happen after stress, overload or impactful experiences in which your body has had to carry a lot.
You do not need to have a clear complaint. It is enough to feel that your body needs attention. You are welcome with what is here now — in your own pace, with your body and your story.
What to expect
A Shiatsu treatment is calm, attuned and unhurried. You lie on a cotton futon mat and the treatment is given through clothing. With attentive touch, gentle pressure and stretches, I invite your body to soften tension and experience more space.
We take time to feel, slow down and notice what your body is showing — calmly, without forcing and in a pace that feels right for you.
I work trauma-sensitively, with attention to safety, boundaries and the pace of your body.
I take time for each appointment. We begin calmly, with a cup of tea if you like. There is space to arrive, settle and share what is present in that moment.
Then we move to the futon mat for the Shiatsu treatment. Afterwards, you do not have to rush away. You can take a moment to come back, notice how you feel and round off gently with tea.
For me, the space before and after the treatment is part of the session. When there is no rush, your body has time to receive the treatment and let it continue working. That is why I reserve about 90 minutes for each appointment.
First session incl. intake and treatment: €90
Follow-up session: €80
A session at Ki Rijk Shiatsu
Originally from Austria, Christina (she/her) has found her home in the Netherlands. For her, Shiatsu is a way of listening — through touch, presence and stillness.
In each session, she creates a space where trust, safety and calm can be felt. A place where the body does not have to perform, but can slowly settle, soften and find its own rhythm again.
Christina trained at Iokai Shiatsu Amsterdam, where the human being is seen as a whole — body, mind and soul.
You are welcome with what is here now — with your body, your pace and your story. If you would like to experience what Shiatsu can offer, you are warmly invited to get in touch or book a session.
Christina continues to deepen her practice through ongoing study — from traditional Japanese techniques such as Okyu moxa, Bo points and gentle mobilisations, to training in trauma-sensitive bodywork, pregnancy and fertility.
